Exciting Professional Development Opportunity for Students and Non-Director Library Staff


HBCU Library Alliance 10th Membership Meeting Preconference

The HBCU Library Alliance is proud to announce that it has been awarded an NEH Chair’s Grant of $29,398.50 from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The Endowment awards grants to top-rated proposals examined by panels of independent, external reviewers. This significant funding will support the participation of seven student library ambassadors and twenty-one non-director library staff in the HBCU Library Alliance's 10th Membership Meeting.


The application process is open to member institutions in good standing.


Non-Director Library Staff

This is an incredible chance to enhance your professional development and contribute to the vibrant community of HBCU librarians. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and apply.


Applications are due by Thursday, August 15, 2024, and selections will be made by Monday, August 26, 2024. If selected, you must submit a brief report and complete a survey about your meeting experience.

Student Library Ambassadors

This is a fantastic professional development opportunity for students passionate about librarianship to gain invaluable insights and connect with professionals in the field. We encourage you to recommend students for this unique chance to grow their skills and network with peers.


Applications are due by Friday, August 30, 2024, and selections will be made by Friday, September 13, 2024. Students must submit a brief report and complete a survey about their meeting experience if selected.
