Conference Presentations: Broadcast News

Tuesday and Wednesday, June 1-2, 2021 


Share your knowledge with the HBCU Library Alliance membership! Virtual conference presentation submissions will be accepted through Monday, March 29th. Authors will be notified of the committee’s decisions by Monday, April 12. 

Process for Submission and Acceptance

1. Applications should be submitted online no later than Monday, March 29th.


Nina Ishokir, Clinton College (SC) nishokir@clinton.edu will chair the committee to review applications. Committee members are Elizabeth Jean Brumfield, Prairie View A&M University (TX), Mantra Henderson, Mississippi Valley State University, Shatiqua Mosby-Wilson, Southern University New Orleans and Monika Rhue, Johnson C. Smith University (NC).

2. Recorded presentations should not be more than 15 minutes to include Q&A.

3. Authors will be notified by Monday, April 12th of the Committee’s decision. Applications will be judged on merit and relation to the Membership Meeting theme.

4. Recorded presentations must be returned no later than Monday, May 3rd.


5. Authors must be available during their presentation slot to respond to chat box items. 


Selection Criteria

The proposal review is a blind, peer-review process.  Proposals will be evaluated by the Committee for originality and relevance to the theme. Special attention will be given to proposals that incorporate one or more of these characteristics:

     a. Contributes ideas or reports related to transformation in libraries,

     b. Demonstrates innovative thinking, and

     c. Presents strategies for effectively implementing new ideas.

Monday, May 3rd – Recorded Presentations Due
