The Library of Congress has contracted with the HBCU Library Alliance to coordinate two virtual fully-funded six-week 2021 summer internships in library conservation and preservation. This is the fourth summer contract with Library of Congress where interns gain exposure at the largest library in the world. Jacob Nadal, Director of Preservation, will serve as site supervisor and mentor. Arnold Bhebe, Alabama State University (AL) and Darshai Hollie, Spelman College (GA) have accepted these placements.

Congrats to Arnold and Darshai!

Arnold Bhebe is a freshman majoring in BioMedical Engineering and Computer Science. He has worked at Alabama State’s Hornet Tribune student newspaper as a website analytics manager, compiling and analyzing information for their website. Through tutoring services, Arnold learned two invaluable lessons from this experience, i.e., it’s important to preserve our work for the upcoming generations, and preserving our knowledge and ideas gives us the necessary tools to make informed decisions when faced with similar situations in the future.
