HBCU-CUL Digitization Initiative
|
|
The HBCU Library Alliance and Cornell University Library collaboration,
"Building Collections, Building Services, and Building
Sustainability: A Collaborative Model for the HBCU Library Alliance",
is a nationwide initiative to prepare HBCU librarians to produce
digital collections and to develop an Internet-based, searchable
database of HBCU library materials with descriptive information
and select digitization of historic pages. Funded by a grant
from The Andrew
W. Mellon Foundation and managed by the Cornell
University Library, this unique project is one of the first
in the nation to build a national framework for digitization of
collaborative HBCU library cultural heritage materials and addresses
a full-range of digitization needs of historically black college
and university libraries. These rich digital resources will be
developed and permanently maintained at individual HBCU libraries
and the HBCU Library Alliance.Questions or Comments? Send email
